A few tips.
How much wine will we need?
You have made the big decisions, chosen the venue, the menu….and now the wine.
First of all you need to choose the wines and sparkling wines/champagne which you want to serve with your wedding meal. We have an extensive range of wines to suit all budgets and we are experienced in helping you to select the right wines for the occasion. We suggest you taste the wines before selecting- a mini tasting with your partner and/or parents can be very enjoyable ! But what really worries most people is working out how much wine to buy.
Here are some more useful tips:
Still wine 75cl……………….. 5-6 glasses per bottle
Champagne/sparkling wine….. 7-8 glasses per bottle
Champagne for toasts….. allow 1 ½ glasses per person
Reception drinks……….. 2 glasses per person
Wine with the meal…….. ½ bottle per person
Corkage
It is very worthwhile asking if your chosen venue will allow you to supply your own wines if you agree to pay corkage. You will not only have a greater choice of wines, but you can also make substantial savings! If you are using a catering company, specify that you will supply your own wines and come in and talk to us.

Marquis de la Cour,Brut, a sparkling French wine ideal for Bucks Fizz or Kir, price £6-75

Prosecco di Conegliano, Lunetta, a fashionable award winning Italian fizz with fine bubbles and only 11% alcohol , price £7-25.

Echeverria Sauvignon Blanc,a slightly softer version of Sauvignon from Chile.
Echeverria Merlot,a fruity,full-bodied red from Chile

Chateau Recougne Sauvignon Blanc, a fresh, crisp Sauvignon from Bordeaux in France, ideal with fish or prawns or white meat like chicken. Price £6.50 Chateau Recougne Rosé, a full flavoured Merlot based Rosé from Bordeaux, excellent with more Mediterranean, tomato based dishes. Price £7.50
Chateau Recougne Bordeaux Superieur, a well- made, classic claret from Bordeaux, always a good choice with red meat dishes. Price £9-50
Tyrrells Moores Creek Cabernet Sauvignon, from the Hunter Valley, N.S.W, Australia, this is a softer, fruitier version than the claret. Price £6-95 Tyrrells Moores Creek Chardonnay, slightely oaked this is a fresh fruity white from Australia. Price £6-95.
Quantity discounts from our wholesale prices: 5% on cases collected or delivered locally.
